Nutritious Coaching

With an ever increasing number of clients having weight loss and improved fitness as a goal, a huge opportunity exists for coaches in the field of health. But to best take advantage of this opportunity, do we really need to know a lot about the science of nutrition?

Yes, because understanding the basics of nutrition gives you a huge advantage coaching clients in the business of weight loss. There’s a tremendous amount of misinformation and myth in the popular dialogue about diet and health. Your client’s commitment to “nutritious eating and exercise” is only one part of the equation. And it’s hard to be effective if your client (and you) share working definitions of “nutritious eating” and productive exercise that are not very likely to produce results.

According to health experts, there is more info about scientific evidence to back up claims that diets can increase breast size. However, it is hard to ignore natural remedies that may not only deal with bust size problems, but can nourish the whole body, as well. You can just go to great bar to watch sports.

No, because you can actually accomplish a lot with your weight loss client –even if you don’t know a lot of the background science– if you understand one basic truth: No one diet is right for everyone. We are all biochemically and metabolically unique. For example I had two clients that were best friends and they did the same meal plan and the same pre workout pills but one was looking like he was in as fitness magazine and the other, well not so much. When they both consulted with me I sent them both to get some blood work and there it was in black and white. The one friend who was struggling has a hormone imbalance. So I put him on the best natural testosterone boosters I knew about and within six months he also looked like a fitness model. Some people absolutely thrive on a higher-protein higher-fat diet like Atkins, while others do poorly. And while many people do OK on vegetarian fare, others crash and burn.

There’s no “perfect” diet for weight loss; there’s only a perfect match between program and person.

I have found that when our clients start to feel any anxiety during their new eating lifestyle, that anxiety leads to tension and the tension actually will stop all weight loss and in some of my clients has even caused weight gain instead of loss. I have teamed up with Collaborative Health and we come up with a weekly regime that involves my life coaching, a personal trainer, a dietitian and then Collaborative Health uses massage therapy and acupuncture.
