Accreditation
The Certified Coach Program is accredited as 36 hours of Approved
Coach Specific Training Hours (“ACSTH”) by the International
Coach Federation (ICF).
The Approved Coach Specific Training Hours designation
is awarded to programs that meet professional standards for coach
training programs established by the ICF. Graduation from an ACSTH
program will meet the ICF's requirements for individual coach certification
for student contact learning hours for the number of hours of the
program. ACSTH approval does not warrant or guarantee the effectiveness
of the training or the student's ability to build a successful coaching
practice. The individual applicant must take the ICF’s portfolio
exam to obtain their credential.
Becoming Certified with CTA
The Certified Coach Program is a 22-week comprehensive
coach training course offered by the Coach Training Alliance (CTA).
This condensed course is designed to have participants trained,
coaching clients, and earning an income as a professional coach in
the shortest amount of time for the most affordable tuition.
Our students have tremendous life and work experience.
They tell us that they are attracted to the field of coaching because
they have been unofficially coaching for years. They are ready to
become a professional coach and earn a great living for what comes
so naturally to them.
An individual of this caliber does not need to study
for 2-4 years or spend $4000 to $10,000 to be fully trained and
launch their practice. As with all training organizations that offer
certification, we are certifying you in our program based on your
demonstrated skills as learned in our course.
When you complete the Certified Coach Program and
all the graduation requirements, you receive
your credentials through Coach Training Alliance and have earned
the right to call yourself a CTA Certified Coach, using CC or CTACC
after your name as your credential. Unlike other coaching schools
your fee for certification is included in the tuition.
Becoming Certified with the
ICF
CTA training aligns with the International Coach
Federation and can be used to achieve ICF certification. As a CTA
graduate you have met the initial requirements necessary to apply
for ICF credentialing through the ICF Portfolio
Track.
The International Coach Federation (ICF) is association
for coaches and not a coach training organization. ICF certifications
are "peer certifications." In addition to the required training
and hours of supervised coaching, a professional coach must accumulate
hundreds of hours of fee-based coaching with clients before applying
to ICF. Graduation or certification with any coach training school
does not automatically result in ICF certification.
The ICF Portfolio Track
If you choose to pursue additional certification after graduating
from CTA's Certified Coach Program, you will have already met a good
portion of the ICF requirements. You will have
36 hours of coach-specific training. You will then have the
option to apply for ICF Certification using the ICF Portfolio
Track.
Additional coach-specific training hours will be needed
can be accumulated through teleclasses, weekend seminars, and advanced
programs developed specifically for coaches. It will take
a minimum of 2-5 years to accumulate the coaching hours ICF requires
to apply for their certification.
Recommendation: We recommend new coaches
get trained, start coaching, and begin making money as a professional
coach as soon as possible. If additional certification, beyond CTA,
is something you want then you are well on your way to accumulating
the necessary number of required hours - both for training and for
paid client coaching hours.
